Who This Is For / When to Use
Use the New Signup trigger if you want to:
Automatically onboard new members or course buyers
Send login credentials or magic links
Tag contacts based on the offer they signed up for
Trigger workflows only on first-time access
What the New Signup Trigger Does
Fires when a contact signs up and receives an offer for the first time
Represents the first offer granted to the contact
Is required for credential population (email + magic link)
Critical Prerequisite (Required)
For the New Signup trigger to work correctly:
The workflow must include a Grant Offer action
Credentials only populate the first time an offer is granted
Credentials will not populate on later grants or manual access changes
This behavior is system-enforced.
Where to Create a New Signup Workflow
Go to Automations → Workflows
Click Create Workflow
How to Add the New Signup Trigger
Click Add New Trigger
Search for New Signup

What the New Signup Trigger Represents
New Signup means:
The contact completed a signup action
(purchase, form submission, checkout, or enrollment)The offer was granted for the first time
Important Distinction
New Signup = first-time access (system action)
Offer Access Granted = access granted later by you or a workflow
Use New Signup when credentials must be sent.
Configuring New Signup Filters
Filters control which signup triggers the workflow.
Common Filter Options
Offer – Specific pricing or access offer
Product – Course or membership
Best Practice
Always filter by Offer when sending credentials.
Sending Login Credentials (Required Setup)
To send credentials automatically:
Add an Email action
Use either:
An email template with credential custom values, or
A custom email with manual insertion
Required Custom Values
Course Email
Magic Link
Access these by clicking the custom values icon inside the email editor.
Publishing Requirements
The workflow must be Published
The offer must be active
The email template must be enabled in:
Memberships → Settings → Email Settings
What NOT to Do (Important Limitations)
Do not manually grant offers if credential emails are required
Manual grants do not reliably populate credentials
Credentials will not send with:
Offer Access Granted trigger
Repeated grants of the same offer
Example Use Case
Scenario
A business offers a 15% Early Bird Discount for new members.
Workflow Setup
Trigger: New Signup
Filter: Offer = 15% Early Bird Discount
Automated Actions
Send welcome email with login credentials
Apply “Early Bird” tag
Start onboarding sequence
Common Issues and Fixes
Credentials did not send
Confirm this was the first time the offer was granted
Verify the workflow includes a Grant Offer action
Ensure email templates are enabled
Workflow did not trigger
Check that the signup used the filtered offer
Confirm workflow is published
Need to grant access again later
Use Offer Access Granted
Do not expect credentials to send again
FAQ
Will credentials send if I use the Offer Access Granted trigger?
No. Credentials only populate the first time an offer is granted using the New Signup trigger.
What if credentials are not important?
Use Offer Access Granted instead. It allows access without sending login details.
Why should I use New Signup instead of manual offer grants?
New Signup ensures credentials and magic links populate correctly. Manual grants may bypass credential delivery.
What if credentials fail to send?
Send a magic link or password reset from the contact profile to resolve access issues.
Does this trigger work without a Grant Offer action?
No. The workflow must include a Grant Offer action for credentials to populate.
Can this trigger fire more than once?
No. It fires only on the first offer grant for that contact.
