Who This Is For / When to Use

Use Magic Links when you want to send members direct, password-free access to courses, communities, or other membership content via email, SMS, workflows, or conversations.

What Are Magic Links

Magic Links are secure, user-specific login URLs that automatically authenticate a contact or user and open the membership area or a specific section.

Magic Links:

  • Must be sent through the system (email, SMS, workflows, or conversations)

  • Use custom values such as {{contact.email}}

  • Only work if the contact already has access to an offer

Where to Find Membership Magic Links

  1. Go to Memberships.

  2. Select Courses.

  3. Open Settings.

  4. Click Site Details.

Configure Site Details for Magic Links

Fill in the required site information so Magic Links generate correctly:

  • Title

  • Subdomain

  • Support Email

  • Support Phone Number

Click Save, then refresh the page to ensure Magic Links update.

User Link vs Learner Link

Two Magic Links are available under Site Details:

User Link

  • Logs in users who belong to the account (staff)

  • Intended for internal access

Learner Link

  • Logs in contacts who are members

  • Used for sending access to courses and memberships

Auto-login works only if the contact has been granted access to an offer.

Sharing a Non-Auto-Login Link

If you want to share the membership URL without auto-login:

  1. Copy the Magic Link.

  2. Remove everything starting from the ? symbol.

  3. Share the base URL only.

This opens the membership area but requires manual login.

Use Magic Links in Emails and Text

Magic Links can be added as:

  • Text hyperlinks

  • Buttons

  • Workflow messages

Add a Magic Link as Text

Paste the Magic Link into the URL field when inserting a hyperlink.

Add a Magic Link to a Button

Paste the Magic Link into the button URL field.

Use Magic Links in Workflows

Magic Links can be automated using workflows.

  1. Use a trigger such as Offer Access Granted.

  2. Add an action like Email or SMS.

  3. Insert the Login URL (Magic Link) custom value into the message.

Generate Section-Specific Magic Links

You can generate Magic Links that open specific areas like:

  • Courses

  • Communities

  • Affiliates

Navigate to Memberships > Client Portal > Dashboard, then click Generate Magic Link and select the destination.

Common Use Cases

  • Password-free login for members

  • New member onboarding

  • Course access reminders

  • Promotional or time-sensitive access

  • Multi-device access without password resets
