Workflow Trigger: New Affiliate Sales

The New Affiliate Sales workflow trigger starts an automation when an affiliate generates a sale, allowing you to notify affiliates, enforce payout or tax requirements, and run internal or external follow-up actions automatically.

Updated over 3 months ago

Who This Is For / When to Use

Use this trigger if you manage affiliates and need automation to respond immediately after an affiliate-driven sale, including notifications, reminders, tagging, or internal alerts.

What the New Affiliate Sales Trigger Does

This trigger activates each time an affiliate sale is recorded. Once triggered, the contact associated with the sale enters the workflow and proceeds through actions you define.

The trigger supports filters, allowing workflows to run only when specific affiliate, campaign, payout, or tax conditions are met.

How to Add the New Affiliate Sales Trigger

Step 1: Open the Workflow Builder

  1. Go to Automations > Workflows.

  2. Click Create Workflow or open an existing workflow.

Step 2: Add the Trigger

  1. Click Add New Trigger.

  2. Search for New Affiliate Sales.

  3. Select the trigger to add it to the workflow.

Step 3: Configure Trigger Filters

Filters control when the workflow should run. All filters are optional but strongly recommended for accuracy.

Available filters include:

  • Affiliate (specific affiliate name)

  • Campaign (specific affiliate campaign)

  • Payout Method (empty or not empty)

  • W8/W9 Form (submitted or not submitted)

Example configuration:

  • Affiliate is Deborah Peters

  • Campaign is Black Friday Deal

  • Payout Method is not empty

  • W8/W9 Form is empty

Step 4: Save the Trigger

  1. Name the trigger (default name is applied automatically).

  2. Click Save.

What Happens After the Trigger Fires

Once triggered, the workflow can run any supported workflow action, including:

  • Send email or SMS

  • Send internal notification

  • Assign a task

  • Apply or remove tags

  • Update contact or affiliate-related fields

The workflow continues only if the trigger conditions are met.
