Use the Affiliate Created workflow trigger to automatically enroll a contact into a workflow when they are added as an affiliate in the Affiliate Manager.

This article is for users who want to:

  • Automate onboarding when a new affiliate is created.

  • Trigger actions such as welcome emails, tagging, or internal notifications.

  • Manage affiliate workflows at scale with minimal manual work.

Use this trigger anytime a contact becomes an affiliate and should immediately enter an automation.

What the Affiliate Created Trigger Does

  • Fires when a contact is added as an affiliate in the Affiliate Manager.

  • Automatically enrolls that contact into the workflow.

  • Does not require filters, but filters can be added for advanced targeting.

Each affiliate creation event can trigger the workflow once per creation.

Step 1: Create or Open a Workflow

  1. Navigate to Automations in the left sidebar.

  2. Click Workflows.

  3. Select + Create Workflow or open an existing workflow.

Step 2: Add the Affiliate Created Trigger

  1. In the workflow builder, click Add New Trigger.

  2. Open the Affiliate trigger category.

  3. Select Affiliate Created.

Step 3: Configure the Trigger

  • Choose a Workflow Trigger: Affiliate Created

  • Workflow Trigger Name: (Optional)

    • This name only affects how the trigger appears in the workflow builder.

    • It does not affect trigger logic or execution.

This trigger does not require filters to function.

Step 4: (Optional) Add Trigger Filters

Filters allow you to limit which affiliates enter the workflow.

Common use cases include:

  • Filtering by affiliate URL

  • Filtering by custom fields

  • Segmenting affiliates by campaign or source

Click + Add filters to apply conditions.

Step 5: Save the Trigger

  1. Review your trigger configuration.

  2. Click Save Trigger.

Step 6: Add Workflow Actions

  1. Click the + icon below the trigger.

  2. Select one or more workflow actions.

Common actions include:

  • Send Email (affiliate welcome email)

  • Apply Tags

  • Update Custom Fields

  • Send Internal Notifications

  • Assign Tasks

Any available workflow action can be used with this trigger.

Step 7: Save, Test, and Publish the Workflow

  1. Click Save in the top-right corner.

  2. Use Test Workflow to confirm behavior.

  3. Toggle Publish to activate the workflow.

Once published, the workflow will trigger for all newly created affiliates that meet the filter conditions.

  • Use campaign or custom field filters to separate logic.
