How to Create and Manage Online Courses

Learn how to create, structure, customize, price, and publish online courses in Kyrios, including lessons, media, assessments, offers, and design settings.

Who This Is For / When to Use

Use this guide if you want to build a new course from scratch or manage existing course content, pricing, and learner experience inside Kyrios.

Step 1: Open Courses

  1. Go to Memberships.

  2. Click Courses.

Step 2: Create a New Course

  1. Open the Products tab.

  2. Click Create New.

  3. Choose one option:

    • Start from scratch

    • Import from Kajabi

For this guide, select Start from scratch.

Step 3: Add Course Details

  1. Enter a Course Title.

  2. Enter a Course Description.

These details appear on the course detail page and in the member library.

Step 4: Upload a Course Thumbnail

  1. Click Upload Thumbnail.

  2. Upload an image (recommended size: 1280 Γ— 720).

Step 5: Set Course Pricing

  1. Choose a Pricing Plan:

    • Free

    • Recurring

    • One Time

  2. If Recurring is selected:

    • Choose the billing period (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).

    • Set Trial Days if needed.

  3. Enter the course price.

Step 6: Build Your Course Structure

After creating the course, you are taken to the Outline tab.

From here you can:

  • Add modules

  • Add sub-modules

  • Add lessons

  • Add quizzes

  • Add assignments

  • Add credentials

  1. Click + Add Content.

  2. Select the content type you want to add.

Step 7: Add and Edit Lessons

  1. Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to a lesson.

  2. Configure the lesson:

    • Lesson name

    • Lesson description

    • Lesson media

You can upload lesson media using:

  • Upload from device

  • Import from link

  • Embed from URL

Step 8: Add Lesson Media and Resources

Inside the lesson editor:

  1. Upload or embed video or audio.

  2. Upload a Lesson Thumbnail.

  3. Add Downloadable Resources such as PDFs.

Step 9: Add Subtitles to Lesson Videos

  1. Open a lesson with video media.

  2. Click Captions.

  3. Select a language.

  4. Upload an SRT subtitle file.

Step 10: Control Lesson Visibility

Each lesson can be set to:

  • Published

  • Draft

  • Locked

Use visibility settings to control when learners can access content.

Step 11: Clone Course Content

You can duplicate lessons, quizzes, or assignments to save time.

  1. Locate the item in the course outline.

  2. Click Clone.

  3. Wait for the item to duplicate.

  4. Edit the cloned content as needed.

Step 12: Create Assignments and Assessments

  1. Click + Add Content.

  2. Select Add Assessment or Add Assignment.

  3. Enter:

    • Title

    • Module

    • Instructions

    • Assessment material

    • Completion message

  4. Toggle Ungraded Assessment if applicable.

  5. Click Save or Save & Publish.

Step 13: Manage Course Details

Open the Details tab to:

  • Edit course title and description

  • Upload course thumbnail

  • Add instructor details

  • Configure advanced settings

Step 14: Customize Course Design

  1. Open the Customize tab.

  2. Choose a theme or browse templates.

  3. Preview and apply design changes.

Step 15: Create an Offer

  1. Open the Offers tab.

  2. Click Create New Offer.

  3. Set pricing, access dates, and payment options.

Step 16: Publish Your Course

  1. Review all content.

  2. Click Publish.

  3. Use Preview to see the learner experience.

Common Issues and Fixes

Course Not Visible to Learners

  • Confirm the course and lessons are set to Published.

  • Ensure an active offer is attached to the course.

Video Does Not Play

  • Confirm the media format is supported.

  • Check embedded links are publicly accessible.

Learners Cannot Access Content

  • Check lesson visibility is not set to Locked.

  • Verify offer access dates.
