Workflow Action: Remove Contact Followers

The Remove Contact Followers workflow action automatically removes one or more assigned users as followers from a contact record.

Who This Is For / When to Use

Use this action if you want to:

  • Automatically remove internal users from a contact

  • Clean up followers after ownership or status changes

  • Prevent unnecessary notifications for closed or inactive contacts

What the Action Does

When this action runs, Kyrios removes:

  • All followers, or

  • Only selected users
    from the contact currently in the workflow.

The removal happens immediately when the workflow reaches this step.

Step 1: Open or Create a Workflow

  1. Go to Automation

  2. Click Workflows

  3. Select an existing workflow or click Create Workflow

Step 2: Add the Remove Contact Followers Action

  1. In the workflow canvas, click the + icon

  2. Select Add Action

  3. Search for Remove Contact Followers

  4. Click to add it to the workflow

Step 3: Configure the Action

You have two configuration options:

Option A: Remove All Followers

  1. Toggle Remove All Followers ON

  2. No user selection is required

Option B: Remove Specific Users

  1. Leave Remove All Followers OFF

  2. Use the Users dropdown

  3. Select one or more users to remove

Step 4: Save the Action

  1. Confirm the action name (optional)

  2. Click Save Action

Once saved, the workflow will continue to the next step or end.

Example Use Case

Scenario: Remove followers when an opportunity is closed.

Workflow setup:

  • Trigger: Opportunity Status Changed β†’ Closed

  • Action: Remove Contact Followers

  • Configuration: Remove All Followers

Result:
When the opportunity closes, all assigned followers are removed from the contact automatically.

Important Behavior and Limits

  • Follower removal is immediate

  • The action does not affect contact ownership

  • Removed followers do not receive notifications

  • The action cannot be undone automatically

Common Issues and Fixes

Followers Were Not Removed

  • Confirm the workflow is published

  • Verify the workflow actually reached the action step

  • Check that users selected are current followers

Removed the Wrong Followers

  • The action is permanent

  • Re-add followers manually from the contact record if needed
