Who This Is For / When to Use

This article is for admins who want to recover lost revenue by following up with contacts who abandon a two-step order form checkout. Use this workflow when reminders, emails, or tags should apply only if payment is not completed.

How Abandoned Cart Detection Works in Kyrios

Abandoned Cart detection works only with two-step order forms. A contact is considered abandoned when the first step of the order form is submitted, but no payment is completed in the second step within a defined wait period.

If a one-step order form is used, the Abandoned Cart workflow will not function.

Part 1: Create the Abandoned Cart Workflow

This workflow identifies abandoned carts, applies a tag, and triggers follow-up actions.

Step 1: Add the Abandoned Cart Trigger

Create a new workflow and configure the trigger to detect order form opt-ins.

  1. Navigate to Automations β†’ Workflows.

  2. Click Create Workflow.

  3. Select Order Form Submission as the trigger.

  4. Apply the following filters:

    • In funnel/website: Select the specific funnel or website.

    • Submission type: Optin

  5. Save the trigger.

Step 2: Add a Wait Step

A wait step allows time for the contact to complete payment before being marked as abandoned.

  1. Add a new action and select Wait.

  2. Choose Time Delay.

  3. Set the wait duration (example: 30 minutes).

  4. Save the action.

Step 3: Apply the Abandoned Cart Tag

Tagging identifies contacts who did not complete checkout.

  1. Add a new action and select Add Contact Tag.

  2. Enter the tag name abandoned cart.

  3. Save the action.

Step 4: Add Follow-Up Actions

Add the actions used to recover the sale, such as emails, SMS, or task reminders.

Common follow-up actions include:

  • Sending an abandoned cart reminder email

  • Sending an SMS reminder

  • Creating a call task

Step 5: Save and Publish the Workflow

Save the workflow, test it, and publish it to activate abandoned cart detection.

Part 2: Create a Purchase Completion Workflow

This second workflow removes abandoned cart labels when a purchase is completed.

Step 1: Add the Purchase Trigger

Create a new workflow to detect completed sales.

  1. Create a new workflow.

  2. Select Order Form Submission as the trigger.

  3. Apply the following filters:

    • In funnel/website: Select the same funnel or website.

    • Submission type: Sale

  4. Save the trigger.

Step 2: Remove the Abandoned Cart Tag

Removing the tag ensures contacts are no longer treated as abandoned.

  1. Add a new action and select Remove Contact Tag.

  2. Select the abandoned cart tag.

  3. Save the action.

Step 3: Remove the Contact from the Abandoned Cart Workflow

This step prevents further follow-ups after purchase.

  1. Add a new action and select Remove from Workflow.

  2. Choose Another Workflow.

  3. Select the abandoned cart workflow created in Part 1.

  4. Save the action.
