Who This Is For / When to Use
This article is for admins and builders who manage Kyrios Community Groups and want to automate engagement, rewards, and recognition using leaderboard-based workflows.
What Community Leaderboard Workflows Do
Community leaderboard workflows automate point assignments and responses when a member’s leaderboard level changes within a community group. These workflows reduce manual tracking, ensure fair point distribution, and create consistent engagement experiences across community members.
Community leaderboard workflows are commonly used to reward participation, trigger recognition messages, and encourage ongoing activity inside groups.
Available Community Leaderboard Triggers
Community Group Member Leaderboard Level Changed
This trigger fires when a community member’s leaderboard level changes within a selected group. It allows workflows to react immediately when a member advances or moves between levels.
What this trigger detects:
Leaderboard level changes for a member
Changes scoped to a specific community group
Typical uses:
Sending congratulatory emails or SMS messages
Granting bonus points when a level is reached
Triggering internal notifications for the moderator
Available Community Leaderboard Actions
Grant Community Group Leaderboard Points
This action awards a specific number of leaderboard points to a member within a selected community group.
What this action does:
Adds points to a member’s leaderboard score
Applies only to the selected community group
Executes immediately when reached in the workflow
Important behavior:
If the contact is not a member of the selected group, the workflow execution fails.
Points are applied only once per workflow execution unless re-entry is enabled.
How to Set Up a Community Leaderboard Workflow

Common Issues and Fixes
Workflow Does Not Run
Cause: Member is not part of the selected community group. Fix: Ensure the member is added to the group before the workflow executes.
Points Are Not Applied
Cause: Group mismatch between trigger and action. Fix: Confirm the same group is selected in both the trigger and action settings.
Duplicate Point Assignments
Cause: Workflow re-entry is enabled without safeguards. Fix: Review re-entry settings or add conditional logic.
Best Practices
Keep point values consistent across leaderboard levels.
Use group filters to prevent unnecessary workflow executions.
Combine leaderboard actions with notifications for stronger engagement.
Regularly review leaderboard metrics to adjust reward strategies.
FAQs
Can I use one workflow for multiple community groups?
Yes. Multiple groups can be handled by creating separate workflows or using multiple actions with clear filters.
What happens if a member is not in the selected group?
The workflow execution fails and points are not granted.
Can I send messages when a level changes?
Yes. Add a Send Email or Send SMS action after the leaderboard trigger.
Can points be granted retroactively?
No. Points are awarded only when triggers fire. Retroactive awards require a manual or bulk workflow approach.
Is there a limit to points awarded?
No enforced limit exists, but reasonable increments are recommended.
