Ask AI Skills and Connectors

Connect third-party applications and create custom instruction sets to extend Ask AI functionality within your Kyrios account.

What Are Connectors?

Connectors allow Ask AI to read, create, update, or search data inside external applications directly from your Kyrios account. Connectors are linked to your individual user login. Credentials and tool selections remain isolated to your user profile and do not leak across account boundaries.

Key Connector Capabilities

  • MCP Marketplace Integration: Browse and connect Model Context Protocol (MCP) applications directly inside Ask AI.

  • Granular Permissions: Toggle entire connectors on or off, or enable specific actions (e.g., enable search while disabling page creation).

  • Browser Control: Use the Browser Control connector with the Ask AI Chrome extension to perform browser actions in Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Arc.

What Are Skills?

Skills are custom instruction sets that teach Ask AI how to perform specific tasks or follow exact Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Skills trigger automatically when a conversation topic matches their configured use when... trigger, or manually when invoked using the / command in text or voice chat.

Key Skill Capabilities

  • Manual Skill Creation: Write custom markdown instructions with explicit names and trigger criteria.

  • Markdown File Uploads: Upload .md files directly into your personal library.

  • On-Demand Execution: Type / in the composer to select and pin a specific Skill to your message.

  • Self-Maintaining Skills: Tell Ask AI "save this as a skill" during a chat to turn a successful workflow into a saved Skill automatically.

How to Connect an App

Follow these steps to authenticate an external application and configure its available tools.

  1. Open the Ask AI interface from the left sidebar navigation.

2. Click the + (plus) icon in the chat composer bar and select Manage Connectors.

3. Browse or search the marketplace for the app you want to integrate (e.g., Notion MCP) and click Connect.

4. Complete the third-party authentication prompt to grant Ask AI access.

5. Click the connected app in your list to configure tool permissions. Toggle All tools off if you wish to enable or disable specific sub-actions individually.

6. Ensure the main toggle next to the app name is set to Enabled.

How to Create or Upload a Skill

You can add a Skill to your library using one of three methods.

Option 1: Create with Ask AI

  1. Open an Ask AI chat session.

  2. Prompt Ask AI: "Save this as a skill: When I ask you to [task], use the following steps: [instructions]".

  3. Review the generated draft and confirm to save it to your library.

Option 2: Upload a Skill File

  1. Click Customize in the Ask AI sidebar and select Skills.

  2. Click the + (plus) icon at the top of the Skills panel and select Upload a skill.

3. Select your .md file. Ask AI automatically parses the title, summary, and instructions.

Option 3: Write a Skill Manually

  1. Click Customize in the Ask AI sidebar and select Skills.

  2. Click the + (plus) icon and select Write skill instructions.

  3. Fill in the Name, the single-line Use when... trigger description, and the Markdown body detailing the procedure.

  4. Click Save.

Security and Data Isolation

Ask AI Connectors and Skills are built on a privacy-first, user-scoped architecture.

  • No Credential Persistence: Ask AI stores account references rather than raw login credentials. Access tokens are generated dynamically per API call and are never logged or stored.

  • Account-Level Scoping: Connectors, tool toggles, and saved Skills are tied exclusively to your individual user record inside a specific account. Settings do not leak across different accounts or organization boundaries.

  • Isolated Execution: Each app connector operates in an isolated environment. If one connected service fails or times out, the overall chat session remains active.

Common Issues and Fixes

Connector fails to execute tool calls

  • Cause: The app connection token has expired, or specific sub-tools are toggled off.

  • Fix: Open Customize → Connectors, select the app, and verify that the main status is set to Enabled and the necessary individual tool toggles are active. If errors persist, click Manage Connectors to re-authenticate the application.

Ask AI does not trigger a Skill automatically

  • Cause: The Skill is currently disabled, or the use when... trigger statement does not match the prompt context.

  • Fix: Verify that the toggle switch next to the Skill is set to Enabled inside Customize → Skills. Alternatively, force execution by typing /skill-name directly in the chat composer.

FAQ

Can I connect the same third-party app to multiple Kyrios accounts?

Yes. Because connections are scoped per user account, you can authenticate distinct third-party logins in separate Kyrios accounts without data overlap.

What happens if I upload the same Skill file twice?

Ask AI automatically appends a numerical suffix (e.g., Report Generation 2) to create a versioned copy rather than overwriting your existing Skill.

Can I share a custom Skill with other team members?

Skills are currently saved to individual user libraries. To share instructions, copy the markdown body text or export the .md file and have team members upload it to their respective Ask AI libraries.

Are my third-party credentials or connector data used to train AI models?

No. Connector access tokens and retrieved data are strictly ephemeral, never logged, and never used for model training.
