What Ask AI Multi-Threading Is
Ask AI multi-threading enables parallel conversation processing. Instead of waiting for one request to complete before starting another, users can run up to 10 simultaneous conversations independently. Each conversation maintains its own context, history, and scroll position. Background tasks continue processing when the Ask AI panel is closed or when navigating to other tools in Kyrios.
Key Capabilities
Multi-threading includes five core system capabilities:
Parallel Conversation Execution: Run up to 10 independent conversations simultaneously without waiting for sequential completion.
Background Processing: Close the Ask AI panel, navigate to other tools, or switch accounts while conversations continue running in the background.
Completion Notifications: Toast notifications alert users when background tasks complete, providing direct action links to the finished chat.
Error Transparency: Failed sessions generate explicit notifications ("Background session failed") rather than failing silently.
Persistent State Management: Each conversation retains its history, scroll position, and context across account views.
Understanding Background Notifications
Background notifications are conversation-specific alerts triggered outside the active Ask AI panel.
Direct Conversation Navigation
Notifications display the conversation title and a clickable action link. Clicking a completion notification navigates directly to the specific chat.
Account-Specific Targeting
Notifications are tied directly to the originating account. Conversations executing in one account will not display completion notifications while viewing a different account.
Persistent Replay
If a background conversation completes while the user is away from the Ask AI panel, the notification replays upon returning to signal completed work.
Context-Aware Display
Notifications are suppressed when the Ask AI panel is actively open to avoid redundant alerts.
How Input-Needed Notifications Work
When Ask AI requires clarification or decision-making to proceed, it triggers an "Input needed" notification. Input-needed notifications take operational priority over standard completion notifications. These alerts display across account boundaries to ensure critical interruptions are surfaced regardless of the active account view. Once input is provided, the conversation resumes execution automatically.
Live Status Indicators
Visual status indicators signal active processing and completed work across the Kyrios interface:
Top Navigation Bar Pulse: The Ask AI button pulses while at least one conversation is actively processing.
Red Completion Dot: A red dot appears on the top navigation Ask AI button when background conversations complete.
Sidebar Blue Icon: The Ask AI icon in the navigation sidebar turns blue during active processing.
Sidebar Blue Dot: A blue dot appears next to the sidebar icon when unreviewed background sessions finish.
5. Mobile Chat History Indicators: Mobile views display a spinner for active processing and a dot for unreviewed completions.
Status indicators reflect data strictly for the active account. Status indicators hide when actively viewing the Ask AI panel.
Account Switching and Conversation Isolation
Ask AI maintains strict conversation isolation between accounts. Work started in Account A continues executing in the background when switching to Account B.
Each account maintains isolated conversation lists, scroll positions, error states, and completion notifications. Conversation data and results do not cross account boundaries.
Voice Mode Enhancements
Voice mode contains specific behavioral rules for hybrid audio and text operation:
Typed Messages Read Aloud: Typing a message while in active voice mode prompts Ask AI to speak its reply aloud.
Graceful Response Completion: Switching conversations during a spoken response allows the audio output to finish naturally without abrupt termination.
Session Exit Confirmation: The system requests confirmation before ending a live voice session to prevent unintended disconnects.
Outside of active voice mode, standard text conversations remain silent.
How to Use Multi-Threading
Desktop Workflow
Open the Ask AI panel from the main navigation menu or sidebar.
2. Enter a request in the input field to start the first conversation.
3. Click New chat to start additional parallel conversations (up to 10 total).
4. Close the Ask AI panel or navigate to other Kyrios tools while processing continues.
5. Monitor top navigation and sidebar status indicators for active or completed work.
6. Click Open to view on toast notifications to jump directly to completed or waiting conversations.
7. Review finished output within the Ask AI panel.
Mobile Workflow
Parallel sessions are available on mobile app versions 4.23.0 and above.
Open the mobile app and select Ask AI from the App Drawer.
Submit the initial request.
Open Chat History and select New Chat.
Submit a secondary request.
Navigate between active sessions via Chat History.
Monitor spinners for active execution and dots for completed chats.
Common Issues and Fixes
Background Session Failed Notification
Cause: Processing error, network interruption, or context failure during execution.
Fix: Click the notification to open the failed conversation, review the error message, and resubmit the prompt.
Missing Completion Notifications
Cause: User is currently inside the active Ask AI panel, or working in a different account than where the conversation originated.
Fix: Check the top navigation account switcher to ensure you are viewing the account where the task was initiated.
FAQ
How many conversations can run simultaneously?
Ask AI supports up to 10 parallel conversations at once. Each conversation runs independently with its own state and context.
What happens to active conversations when closing the Ask AI panel?
Active conversations continue running in the background. Completed outputs automatically save, and toast notifications signal finished tasks.
How do input-needed notifications behave across accounts?
Input-needed notifications display across different account views to alert users immediately when Ask AI requires clarification to continue.
Do conversation histories mix when switching accounts?
No. Conversations are strictly isolated per account. Each account maintains separate conversation histories, scroll positions, and error logs.
What do the pulsing status indicators mean?
A pulsing top navigation button or blue sidebar icon indicates active processing. A red or blue dot indicates completed background sessions waiting for review.
Does Ask AI speak replies in standard text mode?
No. Audio responses occur only when voice mode is actively enabled. Standard text mode remains silent.
