Count Only Available Days in Calendar Date Ranges

The Count available days only setting lets Calendars, Services, and Rentals calculate booking windows using days with actual availability instead of every calendar day.

Who This Is For / When to Use

Use Count available days only when your business does not accept bookings every day of the week.

This setting is useful for:

  • Businesses closed on weekends

  • Teams that work only certain weekdays

  • Calendars with custom availability schedules

  • Services or Rentals that should remain bookable for a specific number of working days

  • Calendars that use minimum scheduling notice together with a date range

When enabled, unavailable days do not consume the configured booking window.

How Count Available Days Only Works

The Count available days only toggle appears below the booking window or Date range setting.

When the toggle is off, the booking window counts calendar days, including days with no availability.

When the toggle is on, Kyrios skips days that are outside the applicable availability schedule and continues counting until the configured number of available days has been reached.

For example, if a business is closed Saturday and Sunday and the booking window is set to two days, a customer viewing availability on Friday can be shown Monday and Tuesday instead of having the weekend consume the two-day window.

How Minimum Scheduling Notice Affects the Date Range

When Count available days only is enabled, Kyrios applies the Minimum scheduling notice before calculating the available-day booking window.

After the scheduling notice period has passed, the system begins counting from the next available day. The configured date range therefore represents the number of available days shown after the minimum scheduling notice requirement has been satisfied.

How Availability Is Calculated for Team Calendars

The setting is supported for round robin and collective calendars.

For calendars with multiple assigned team members, a day counts as available when at least one assigned team member has availability on that day. A day with no availability from any applicable team member is skipped when Count available days only is enabled.

How Date-Specific Hours Affect the Date Range

Date-specific availability overrides are included when Kyrios determines whether a day should count.

  • A normally unavailable day that is opened through date-specific hours can count as an available day.

  • A normally available day that is blocked through date-specific hours is skipped.

This allows the booking window to reflect actual availability instead of only the standard weekly schedule.

Enable Count Available Days Only for a Meeting Calendar

  1. Go to Calendars.

  2. Open the calendar you want to edit.

  3. Select Booking rules.

  4. Find Date range.

  5. Enter the number of days for the booking window.

  6. Turn on Count available days only.

  7. Select Save changes.

When enabled, unavailable days are skipped while Kyrios calculates the configured date range.

Enable Count Available Days Only for Services

  1. Go to Calendars > Services.

  2. Open Global settings.

  3. Select Service settings.

  4. Find the Booking window setting.

  5. Select the applicable range-based booking option.

  6. Turn on Count available days only.

  7. Select Save changes.

The service booking window will then count available service days instead of all calendar days.

Enable Count Available Days Only for Rentals

  1. Go to Calendars > Rentals.

  2. Edit the listing you want to update.

  3. Select Booking settings.

  4. Find Max advance booking window.

  5. Configure the booking window.

  6. Turn on Count available days only.

  7. Select Save changes.

Unavailable rental days are skipped when calculating the advance booking window.

Example: A Business Closed on Weekends

A business is available Monday through Friday and has a two-day booking window.

If Count available days only is disabled, Saturday and Sunday can consume the configured date range even though no appointments are available.

If Count available days only is enabled, Kyrios skips Saturday and Sunday. The two-day booking window continues into Monday and Tuesday.

The customer therefore receives two actual available booking days.

Example: A Custom Weekly Schedule

A business accepts appointments only on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and sets its date range to three days.

With Count available days only enabled, Kyrios counts the next three available days based on that schedule. Unavailable Tuesdays, Thursdays, and other closed days do not reduce the three-day booking window.

Common Issues and Fixes

The booking window still includes unavailable dates

Confirm that Count available days only is enabled for the calendar, service, or rental being booked.

Also verify the availability schedule and any date-specific hour overrides. Kyrios uses those settings to determine which days count as available.

The booking window starts later than expected

Check the Minimum scheduling notice setting. Kyrios first applies the required scheduling notice and then begins counting available days for the date range.

A normally closed day is included in the booking window

Check for date-specific hours. A date that has been explicitly opened through date-specific availability can count toward the booking window even if that weekday is normally unavailable.

A normally available day is being skipped

Check whether that date has been blocked through date-specific hours. Days specifically marked unavailable are skipped when Count available days only is enabled.
