Who This Is For / When to Use
Use dynamic values in dashboards when you want the same dashboard setup to display account-specific or user-specific information without manually creating separate versions.
This is useful for:
Reusing one dashboard across multiple accounts.
Creating dynamic widget conditions.
Personalizing dashboard titles and text.
Building embed URLs that change based on account data.
Using values already stored under Settings → Custom values.
Where Dynamic Values Are Supported
Dynamic values can be inserted using the {} picker in two areas.
Widget Conditions
You can insert a dynamic value into supported text-value fields within a widget's Conditions tab. For example, a condition can compare an Address field against the account's stored address using:
{{ location.address }}
Dashboard Elements
Dynamic values are also supported in these dashboard elements:
Embed URL
Title
Text box
For example, a Text box can display the value stored in a custom value token.
Available Dynamic Value Types
The {} picker provides values from three sources.
Account Fields
Available account fields include:
Account ID
Account Name
Email
Phone
Website
Address
City
State
Country
Postal Code
Timezone
Account fields are available automatically and do not require custom-value setup.
User Fields
Available user fields include:
User ID
Email
Phone
Role
Type
First Name
Last Name
Name
Full Name
User fields are available automatically.
Custom Values
All custom values created under Settings → Custom values are available from the picker. Custom values are organized using the same folders configured in Settings.
How to Insert a Dynamic Value in a Widget Condition
Open the dashboard.
Switch the dashboard to Edit mode.
Add a widget or edit an existing widget.
Open the Conditions tab.
Locate a supported text-value field.
Select the {} button next to the field.
Browse or search under Account, User, or Custom values.
Select the value you want to use.
Confirm that the token is inserted into the field.
Save the widget.
Switch to View mode to see the resolved value.
A token such as {{ location.address }} displays the corresponding account value when the dashboard is viewed.
How to Insert a Dynamic Value in a Dashboard Element
Open the dashboard in Edit mode.
Add or edit an Embed, Title, or Text box element.
Select the {} button where dynamic values are supported.
Choose an Account, User, or Custom value.
Confirm that the token appears in the element.
Save the element.
Switch to View mode.
The token is replaced with its stored value when the dashboard is displayed.
How Dynamic Values Resolve
Dynamic-value tokens resolve automatically when the dashboard is viewed.
This allows the same dashboard configuration to display different values for different accounts without manually changing the dashboard.
For example:
An account-name token displays the current account's name.
An address token displays the current account's address.
A custom value displays the value configured for that account.
A dynamic Embed URL can use an account ID or custom value to load account-specific external content.
Common Uses
Reuse One Dashboard Across Accounts
Build one dashboard structure and use account-specific values for names, addresses, URLs, or other information.
This reduces the need to create separate dashboard versions manually.
Create Dynamic Embed URLs
Insert an account field or custom value into an Embed URL.
The resulting URL can load different external content depending on the account viewing the dashboard.
Personalize Dashboard Content
Use dynamic values in Titles or Text boxes to display account-specific information.
This can make a shared dashboard template appear customized for each account.
Build Dynamic Widget Conditions
Use account, user, or custom values as comparison values in supported widget conditions. This allows widget filtering to adapt based on stored data instead of requiring hard-coded values.
Important Behavior
Dynamic-value insertion is available to users who can edit dashboards.
If a token does not have a value configured for the current account, the token resolves as blank in View mode.
Account and User system fields are available automatically.
Custom values must already exist under Settings → Custom values before they can be selected from the picker.
Common Issues and Fixes
A Dynamic Value Appears Blank
The selected field or custom value may not contain a value for the current account.
Check the underlying account field or the value configured under Settings → Custom values.
A Custom Value Does Not Appear in the Picker
Confirm that the custom value has already been created under Settings → Custom values. Only existing custom values are available for selection.
The Token Is Visible Instead of the Final Value
Confirm that you are viewing the dashboard in View mode.
The editor can display the token itself, while the resolved value is shown when the dashboard is viewed.
