Granular Permission Controls for Voice AI Agents

Granular permission controls let admins decide which users can view, manage, configure, or report on Voice AI agents.

What Voice AI Granular Permissions Are

Voice AI granular permissions control what a staff user can see and do inside Voice AI. These permissions help separate agent editing, goal configuration, and reporting access.

Voice AI permissions include:

  • AI Agents parent control

  • View & manage voice AI agents

  • View voice AI agent goals

  • View & manage voice AI agent goals

  • View voice AI dashboard


Open the Staff Member Settings

Go to Settings, then select My Staff. Find the staff member you want to update and click the Edit pencil icon.


Open Roles & Permissions

Inside the staff member profile, select Roles & Permissions. Use this section to control what the user can access inside the account.


Locate the AI Agents Permission Group

Scroll to the AI Agents permission group. This group contains the Voice AI permissions that control agent access, goal access, and dashboard visibility.


Configure Voice AI Permissions

Turn the relevant Voice AI permissions on or off based on the user’s role.

Available permissions include:

  • View & manage voice AI agents

  • View voice AI agent goals

  • View & manage voice AI agent goals

  • View voice AI dashboard

Leave permissions unchecked when the user should not see or manage that area.


Save the Permission Changes

After selecting the correct permissions, click Save. The updated permissions apply to the selected staff user.


View & Manage Voice AI Agents

The View & manage voice AI agents permission allows a user to create, edit, and delete Voice AI agents.

When enabled, the user can:

  • Access the Voice AI agent list.

  • Create Voice AI agents.

  • Edit existing Voice AI agents.

  • Delete Voice AI agents.

  • Assign phone numbers and update agent settings.

When disabled, the user cannot manage Voice AI agents.


View Voice AI Agent Goals

The View voice AI agent goals permission gives read-only access to Voice AI agent goals. When enabled, the user can view goal settings without editing them. This is useful for support, training, or review-only roles.


View & Manage Voice AI Agent Goals

The View & manage voice AI agent goals permission allows a user to edit Voice AI goal configuration.

When enabled, the user can manage items such as:

  • Knowledge Base selection

  • Data collection fields

  • Call completion workflow triggers

  • Post-call email notifications

  • Basic and advanced goal settings

When disabled, the user should not be able to update goal configuration after agent creation.


View Voice AI Dashboard

The View voice AI dashboard permission controls access to Voice AI reporting and logs. When enabled, the user can view Voice AI performance information such as calls, triggered actions, sentiment, and completed call data. When disabled, dashboard and log visibility are restricted.


Common Issues and Fixes

Voice AI does not appear in the sidebar

The user may not have Voice AI permissions enabled. Go to Settings > My Staff > Edit User > Roles & Permissions > AI Agents and enable the required Voice AI permissions.

A user can view goals, but cannot edit them

The user may only have View voice AI agent goals enabled. Enable View & manage voice AI agent goals if the user should edit goal settings.

A user can edit agents, but cannot see dashboard data

Enable the View voice AI dashboard for the user. Dashboard visibility is controlled separately from agent management.

Permission changes are not visible immediately

Ask the user to refresh the page or sign out and back in.

FAQ

Are Voice AI granular permissions set at the agency level?

No. Voice AI granular permissions are configured per account from Settings > My Staff.

Can I copy the same permission set to another user?

Yes. Use Copy Permission in the staff member settings to copy permissions from another user. This copies all permissions, not only Voice AI permissions.

Do these permissions affect Conversation AI?

No. These permissions apply to Voice AI agents only.

Why can’t I see Voice AI in the sidebar?

Your user role may not include Voice AI permissions. Ask an admin to enable the required Voice AI permissions.

Why can’t I edit Voice AI agent goals?

You may only have read-only goal access. Ask an admin to enable View & manage voice AI agent goals.
