Reviews & Ratings for Products in E-commerce Stores

Reviews and Ratings allow customers to leave feedback on products and enable store owners to moderate, reply to, and display reviews across product pages and product lists.

What Reviews and Ratings Do

Reviews and Ratings provide social proof by displaying customer feedback on product pages and product lists.

They help store owners:

  • Build trust with future buyers

  • Increase engagement and conversions

  • Maintain quality through moderation tools

Enable Reviews and Ratings on Product Pages

  1. Open your store page in the Site Builder.

  2. Select the Product List element.

  3. Open General settings.

  4. Expand Reviews and Ratings.

  5. Enable Show Reviews and Ratings.

  6. (Optional) Enable Show Reviews Count.

Customize Review Appearance (Stars and Text)

From the same Product List → Reviews and Ratings settings, you can:

  • Change Reviews and Ratings Text Color

  • Change Reviews and Ratings Star Color

  • Control visibility on both product lists and product detail pages

These settings ensure reviews match your store’s branding.

Access the Reviews and Ratings Dashboard

All submitted reviews are managed from the admin area.

Navigation path:
Payments → Products → Reviews

This dashboard stores all reviews for every product in one place.

Review Status Tabs Explained

Reviews are organized into four tabs:

  • Pending – New reviews awaiting moderation

  • Approved – Published and visible to customers

  • Unapproved – Hidden but retained

  • Trash – Removed reviews

Each tab shows the total count for quick review management.

Moderate Reviews Individually

  1. Click any review row to open Review Details.

  2. Choose one action:

    • Approve – Publish the review

    • Unapprove – Keep it hidden

    • Move to Trash – Remove from active lists

  3. (Optional) Type a response to the customer.

  4. Click Approve and reply to publish with your response.

Use Bulk Actions for Faster Moderation

You can manage multiple reviews at once.

  1. Select reviews using the checkbox column.

  2. Click Bulk Action.

  3. Choose:

    • Approve

    • Unapprove

    • Delete Permanently

This is useful for high-volume stores.

Filter and Sort Reviews

Use filters to quickly locate reviews by:

  • Date range

  • Rating value

  • Product name

  • Store name

Sorting helps prioritize low-rated or recent reviews.

Permanently Delete Reviews

Reviews moved to Trash are not visible to customers.

From the Trash tab, you can:

  • Restore a review

  • Delete it permanently

Permanent deletion removes the review from the account entirely.

Common Issues and Fixes

Reviews are not visible on the store
Ensure Show Reviews and Ratings is enabled in the Product List and Product Detail settings.

Reviews appear, but no count is shown
Enable Show Reviews Count in Reviews and Ratings settings.

A review cannot be deleted
Move it to Trash first, then delete permanently from the Trash tab.

FAQ

Can I customize the star color for reviews?

Yes. Star color and review text color can be customized from the Product List → Reviews and Ratings settings.

How do I respond to a customer review?

Open the review from the Reviews dashboard, type your reply, and click Approve and reply.

What does “Show Reviews Count” do?

It displays the total number of reviews next to the star rating on product cards and product pages.

Can I moderate reviews before they are published?

Yes. All new reviews appear in the Pending tab until approved.

Can I filter reviews by product?

Yes. Filters allow sorting by product name, rating, date range, and store name.

Can reviews be deleted permanently?

Yes. Reviews moved to the Trash can be permanently deleted from the Trash tab.
