Creating Shipping & Delivery Rates

Learn how to create shipping zones and define delivery rates based on cart total or product weight for your Kyrios e-commerce store.

This article is for e-commerce store owners who want to control shipping and delivery pricing by country, state, province, cart value, or product weight.

Use this feature when you need:

  • Different shipping costs for different regions

  • Free shipping thresholds

  • Weight-based delivery pricing

  • Multiple shipping zones with unique rate rules

Navigating to Shipping & Delivery Settings

Follow these steps to access shipping configuration:

  1. Open Payments from the left navigation menu.

  2. Click Settings at the top.

  3. Select Shipping & Delivery.

All shipping zones and delivery rates are managed from this screen.

Creating a Shipping Zone

Step 1: Add a Zone

  1. Click Add Zone.

  2. Select one or more:

    • Countries

    • States

    • Provinces

Each location can belong to only one shipping zone.

Step 2: Add Delivery Rates

  1. Inside the zone, click Add Rate.

  2. Enter the delivery charge.

  3. Choose the condition type:

    • Cart total–based

    • Weight-based

You can create multiple pricing tiers within the same zone.

Setting Rates Based on Cart Total

Cart total–based rates apply based on the order amount.

Example configuration:

  • Free shipping for orders above $500

  • $10 shipping for orders below $500

These tiers are evaluated automatically during checkout.

Setting Rates Based on Product Weight

Weight-based rates apply using the total order weight.

How to configure:

  1. Go to Payments > Settings > Shipping & Delivery.

  2. Click Add Zone or select an existing zone.

  3. Click Add Rate.

  4. Define weight ranges and pricing.

Example configuration:

  • Free shipping for orders between 0–10 kg

  • $10 shipping for orders above 10 kg

Managing Multiple Shipping Zones

Creating Additional Zones

You can create unlimited shipping zones.

Repeat the zone creation process for each region you serve and assign different pricing rules as needed.

Reviewing and Saving

  1. Review all zones and rates carefully.

  2. Click Save to apply the delivery charges.

Changes take effect immediately for new orders.

Example Shipping Zone Setup

Zone 1

Common Issues and Fixes

  • A location appears in multiple zones
    Shipping zones must be mutually exclusive. Remove the location from one zone before adding it to another.

  • Rates not applying at checkout
    Confirm that:

    • The customer’s location matches a defined zone

    • Rate conditions (cart total or weight) are met

    • Changes were saved successfully

Can I create overlapping shipping zones?

No. Each country, state, or province can belong to only one shipping zone to prevent pricing conflicts.

How do I update shipping rates for an existing zone?

Go to Payments > Settings > Shipping & Delivery, select the zone, edit the rates, and click Save.

Can I use both weight-based and cart total–based rates in the same zone?

Yes. You can define separate rate conditions within the same zone for maximum flexibility.

Can I exclude specific products from shipping zones?

No. All products are included in shipping zones by default. Product-level exclusions are not supported in this feature.

How can I see which shipping zone was applied to an order?

The applied shipping zone and delivery rate appear in the order details after checkout.

Can I create multiple shipping zones for different regions?
