Creating & Managing Assessments (Assignments)

Assignments allow learners to submit files or written responses that are manually reviewed and graded by an instructor.

Who This Is For / When to Use

Use assignments when learners must upload files, complete written tasks, or require instructor feedback instead of auto-grading.


Create an Assignment

Step 1: Open the Course

  1. Go to Memberships → Courses → Products.

  2. Open the product where the assignment will live.


Step 2: Add an Assignment

  1. Click + Add Content.

  2. Select Add Assessment.


Step 3: Create the Assignment

  1. Enter an Assignment Name.

  2. Select the Module.

  3. Click Create Assignment.


Configure Assignment Settings

Assignment Editor Fields

  • Assignment Name – Title shown to learners.

  • Instructions – Rich text instructions for learners.

  • Assessment Material – Upload templates or reference files.

  • Assignment Thumbnail – Optional visual (1280×720 recommended).

  • Completion Message – Message shown after submission.


Ungraded vs Graded Assignments

  • Enable Ungraded Assignment to remove scoring.

  • Leave unchecked for instructor review and grading.


Publish the Assignment

  1. Choose Draft or Published from the status dropdown.

  2. Click Save or Save & Publish.

  3. Use Preview to see the learner view.


Learner Assignment Experience

Assignment Under Review

After submission, learners may see an In Review status until grading is complete.

Passed Assignment View

Learners see confirmation, instructor feedback, and uploaded files.

Retaking an Assignment

Learners can click Retake Assignment if enabled.


Assignment Analytics

View Assignment Results

  1. Go to Memberships → Analytics.

  2. Select Assessments.


Review Individual Submissions

  • Click the eye icon to open a learner’s submission.

  • View uploaded files, responses, and feedback.


FAQ

What statuses can assignments have?

Assignments can show In Review, Passed, or Grade depending on configuration and instructor action.

Can learners upload multiple files?

Yes. Assignments support multiple file uploads across common formats.

Can assignments be retaken?

Yes, if the instructor allows resubmission.
