Universal Sections let you save and sync reusable sections across your entire account so updates automatically apply everywhere they are used.

Updated over 2 months ago

Who This Is For / When to Use

Use Universal Sections if you:

  • Reuse headers, footers, or CTAs across multiple pages

  • Want one-click updates across websites, funnels, blogs, and stores

  • Need consistent design without manual updates on every page

What Universal Sections Are

Universal Sections are saved sections that sync across your entire account.

When you edit a Universal Section:

  • The update applies everywhere the section is used

  • No manual replacement is required

  • Design consistency is maintained automatically

Universal Sections can include any builder-supported content:

  • Text

  • Images

  • Buttons

  • Forms

  • CTAs

  • Layout elements

Section Types Explained

When saving a section, you must choose one of three types.

Universal Sections

  • Sync across the entire account

  • Updates apply to all pages, funnels, blogs, and stores

  • Best for headers, footers, and standard CTAs

Global Sections

  • Sync only within the current funnel or website

  • Updates do not affect other funnels or websites

Section Templates

  • Static, reusable layouts

  • Changes do not sync after insertion

The section type cannot be changed after saving.

How to Save a Section

Follow these steps to save any section:

  1. In the builder, hover over the section you want to save

  2. Click the Save Section icon in the section toolbar

How to Choose the Section Type

After clicking Save Section, a modal appears.

Steps:

  1. Enter a name for the section

  2. Select one option:

    • Universal Section

    • Global Section

    • Section Template

  3. Click Save

How to Use a Saved Universal Section

Saved sections are inserted from the left sidebar.

Steps:

  1. Open the Left Sidebar

  2. Go to Saved Assets

  3. Select Universal Sections

  4. Drag and drop the section into the page

How Updates Work

Universal and Global Sections sync automatically.

Behavior:

  • Editing one instance updates all linked instances

  • Sync happens immediately after saving

  • No re-publishing of other pages is required

Section Templates do not sync after insertion.

Important Rules and Limitations

These rules apply to all saved sections:

  • A section’s type cannot be changed after saving

  • You cannot re-save the same section into another category

  • To change type, you must clone the section and save the clone

  • If a Universal or Global Section already exists on a page, it cannot be re-added from the sidebar

  • To reuse it again, clone the existing section and use the clone

Common Issues and Fixes

I can’t change a section’s type

  • This is expected behavior

  • Clone the section and save the clone under a different type

I can’t drag a Universal Section onto a page

  • If it already exists on the page, it cannot be reused directly

  • Clone the section to create a reusable variant

My changes updated multiple pages unexpectedly

  • Universal Sections sync across the entire account by design

  • Use Section Templates if you need non-syncing layouts

FAQ

Can I change the type of a saved section?

No. Once saved as Universal, Global, or Section Template, the type cannot be changed. Clone the section to save it under a different type.

How do I update a Universal Section?

Edit the section anywhere it exists. The update automatically syncs across all instances in the account.

Can I use a Universal Section multiple times?

Yes. Universal Sections can be used on multiple pages and will stay in sync everywhere.

What’s the difference between Universal and Global Sections?

Universal Sections sync across the entire account. Global Sections sync only within the current funnel or website.

Can I reuse an existing Universal or Global Section?

You cannot drag it again from the sidebar if it already exists on the page. You must clone it to create another instance.

Is there a limit to how many Universal Sections I can create?

There is no technical limit, but Universal Sections are best used for repeatable elements like headers, footers, and standard CTAs.
