Who This Is For / When to Use

Use this feature if you want to maintain branding, guide visitors, or recover traffic when users land on broken or invalid URLs on your website or funnel.

What Is a Custom 404 Error Page

A custom 404 error page is a funnel step or website page that appears when a visitor reaches a URL that does not exist.

In Kyrios, this page behaves like any other site page and can include branding, messaging, buttons, and links.

Prerequisites

Before assigning a custom 404 page:

  • Your domain must be connected

  • Your 404 page must already be created in Funnels or Websites

Step 1: Create a 404 Page

  1. Go to Sites (Funnels or Websites).

  2. Create a new page or funnel step.

  3. Design the page as your 404 error page.

  4. Save and publish the page.

This page will later be selectable as your 404/Error Page.

Step 2: Open Domain Settings

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Domains.

  3. Locate the connected domain.

  4. Click the three-dot menu.

  5. Select Edit.

Step 3: Assign the 404/Error Page

  1. In the Edit Domain modal:

    • Locate Set default 404/Error Page.

  2. Select the page you created for 404 handling.

  3. Click Save.

Step 4: Confirm Behavior

Once saved:

  • Any invalid or broken URL on that domain will automatically redirect visitors to your custom 404 page.

  • No additional configuration is required.

Best Practices

  • Use a unique 404 page per domain when managing multiple brands.

  • Include:

    • A clear error message

    • A button back to your homepage

    • Navigation links or contact options

  • Keep messaging friendly and helpful to reduce bounce rates.

Common Issues and Fixes

I don’t see my page in the 404 dropdown

Ensure the page is:

  • Published

  • Created under Funnels or Websites

  • Available on the same account

Visitors still see a blank or default error

Confirm the domain is fully connected and DNS changes have propagated.
