Who This Is For / When to Use
This feature is for Kyrios users who manage tasks across related records, such as sales teams tracking deal follow-ups, operations teams coordinating work across companies, or admins using Custom Objects for advanced workflows.
Use this feature when one task applies to more than one record and should remain visible in each record’s activity panel.
What Changed With Task Associations
Tasks are no longer restricted to a single contact. Each task can now be associated with multiple records across supported object types, allowing tasks to appear wherever they are contextually relevant.
How Task Associations Work
A task can be linked to up to 10 total records across all supported object types. Each object type, Contacts, Companies, Opportunities, and Custom Objects, maintains its own set of associations within the same task.
In object views, tasks now display association columns and can be filtered by object type, making it easy to see why a task appears in that record.
Supported Object Types
Tasks can be associated with the following objects:
Contacts
Companies
Opportunities
Custom Objects
Each association creates visibility only; it does not duplicate the task or create separate task instances.
How to Associate a Task With Multiple Records
You can add or edit task associations directly from the task itself.
Create a new task or open an existing task.
Open the Associations panel.
Select one or more Contacts, Companies, Opportunities, or Custom Object records.
Save the task.
The task will immediately appear in the activity or task views of all linked records.
How to View Tasks From an Object Record
Tasks linked to an object can be viewed from that object’s task list.
Open any Contact, Company, Opportunity, or Custom Object record.
Open the Tasks list (modal, sidebar, or full-screen view).
Review all tasks associated with that record.
Tasks can be filtered by associated object type to quickly narrow results.
Common Use Cases
One Task, Multiple Related Records
A single follow-up task can be linked to both a Contact and an Opportunity so sales activity stays visible in both records.
Company-Level Task Visibility
An internal task can be associated with a Company and all related Opportunities without creating duplicate tasks.
Custom Object Workflows
Tasks can be linked to Custom Objects such as Projects, Properties, or Memberships to maintain operational context.
Common Questions and Fixes
Will this create duplicate tasks?
No. Associations only control visibility. One task exists, regardless of how many records it is linked to.
Is there a limit to how many records a task can be linked to?
Yes. A task can be associated with up to 10 records total across all object types.
Can tasks still be created from a contact?
Yes. Tasks can be created from Contacts, Companies, Opportunities, Custom Objects, or directly from the Tasks view.
