Who This Is For / When to Use

This article is for users who want to automate affiliate management by activating or deactivating affiliates based on workflow conditions, triggers, or manual execution.

Use this action when you need to:

  • Automatically activate affiliates after a qualifying event.

  • Deactivate affiliates based on inactivity or disqualification.

  • Manage affiliate status without manual updates in the Affiliate Manager.

Step 1: Create or Open a Workflow

  1. Navigate to Automations in the left menu.

  2. Click Workflows at the top.

  3. Select Create Workflow or open an existing workflow from the list.

Step 2: Add a Workflow Trigger (Optional)

  1. Click Add New Trigger to define when the workflow should run.

  2. Select and configure any applicable trigger.

Important:
The Update Affiliate action does not require a trigger. If no trigger is added, the workflow will not run automatically and must be executed manually or tested only.

Step 3: Add the Update Affiliate Action

  1. Click the + icon below the trigger (or at the start of the workflow).

  2. In the Actions panel, search for Update Affiliate.

  3. Select Update Affiliate under the Affiliate section.

Step 4: Configure Affiliate Status

  1. In the Update Affiliate action settings, choose one option:

    • Mark Affiliate as Active

    • Mark Affiliate as Inactive

  2. Confirm the action name if needed.

  3. Click Save Action.

Step 5: Save, Test, and Publish the Workflow

  1. Click Save in the top-right corner of the workflow builder.

  2. Use Test Workflow to validate the setup.

  3. Toggle the workflow status to Publish when ready.

Common Issues and Fixes

Workflow Does Not Run

  • Ensure the workflow is Published, not in Draft.

  • Confirm at least one trigger is configured if you expect automatic execution.

Affiliate Status Does Not Change

  • Verify the contact qualifies as an affiliate.

  • Confirm the correct Active or Inactive option was selected in the action.

Testing Shows No Results

  • Use a test contact that already exists in the Affiliate Manager.

  • Review execution logs to confirm the action step ran successfully.
