Limit Increase for Conversation AI Actions: Update Contact Field and Trigger a Workflow

Conversation AI bots can now update up to 20 contact fields and trigger up to 5 workflows from a single bot goal, enabling richer data capture and more advanced automation.

Update Contact Field: Limit Increased to 20 Fields

The Add Contact Info action now supports updating up to 20 contact fields in a single bot goal (previously limited to 3).

This allows:

  • Richer lead data collection in one conversation

  • Fewer separate bot goals or workflows

  • Faster and more reliable contact updates

Trigger a Workflow: Limit Increased to 5 Workflows

The Trigger a Workflow action now supports triggering up to 5 workflows from a single bot goal (previously limited to 3).

This allows:

  • Parallel automations from one conversation

  • Better orchestration of follow-ups, notifications, and routing

  • More flexibility without additional bot logic

How to Use the Increased Limits

Step 1: Create or Open a Prompt-Based Bot

Go to Conversation AI and click Create Bot, then select Create Prompt Based Bot.

Step 2: Open Bot Goals

Open your bot and navigate to the Bot Goals tab.

Scroll to Setup your Actions to see available actions.

Step 3: Update Up to 20 Contact Fields

  1. Click Add Contact Info

  2. Map or update up to 20 contact fields

  3. Save the bot goal

All fields are updated in a single execution.

Step 4: Trigger Up to 5 Workflows

  1. Click Trigger a Workflow

  2. Add up to 5 workflows

  3. Save the bot goal

All selected workflows can run from the same conversation context.

Common Issues and Fixes

Some contact fields are not updating

  • Confirm the fields exist in your account

  • Ensure the bot captures values before updating

  • Avoid mapping the same field multiple times

A workflow does not trigger

  • Check workflow status (published and active)

  • Confirm entry conditions are met

  • Review execution logs for errors
