Who This Is For / When to Use
Use Contact-to-Contact Associations when you need to track relationships such as spouses, family members, colleagues, managers, or business partners between contacts.
What Are Contact-to-Contact Associations
Contact-to-Contact Associations allow you to:
Link one contact to another
Apply a relationship label (for example, Spouse, Parent–Child, or Husband–Wife)
View the relationship on both contact records (reciprocal visibility)
Each contact can have up to 10 association relationships.
Create a Contact-to-Contact Association Label
Association labels define how contacts relate to each other.
Go to Settings.
Navigate to Objects > Contacts.
Open the Associations tab.
Click + Create Association.
Select the object to associate with:
Contacts
Choose the label type:
Enter the label name(s).
Review the relationship preview.
Click Save.
Edit or Delete an Association Label
You can manage existing association labels at any time.
Go to Settings > Objects > Contacts > Associations.
Locate the association label.
Click the three-dot (kebab) menu.
Select Edit or Delete.
Deleting a label removes it from all contacts using that association.
Link Contacts Using an Association
Once labels exist, you can link contacts directly from a contact record.
Open a Contact.
Locate the Associations panel on the right.
Click + Add next to Contacts.
Select the contact you want to associate.
Choose the appropriate association label.
Click Save.
View Associated Contacts
Associated contacts appear in the Associations section of the contact record.
Contacts are grouped by association label
Each associated contact shows key details (name, email, phone)
Relationships appear reciprocally on both contact profiles
Remove an Association Between Contacts
To unlink two contacts without deleting the label:
Open the contact.
Go to the Associations panel.
Find the associated contact.
Click the unlink/remove icon.
This removes the relationship but keeps the association label available for reuse.
