What Is the Facebook Ad Account Spending Limit

The Facebook Ad Account spending limit is a maximum total amount your ad account is allowed to spend.

When the limit is reached:

  • All ads automatically pause

  • No impressions are delivered

  • Campaigns remain active but do not spend

Ads will not resume until the limit is increased, reset, or removed.

  • Campaign or ad set budget caps

  • Ads still under review

  • Paused campaigns or ad sets

I don’t see the option to change the spending limit

Only Ad Account Admins can manage spending limits.
Ask an Admin to update the limit if the option is missing.

Should I remove the spending limit completely?

Removing the limit is safe if:

  • You actively monitor spend

  • Budgets are controlled at campaign or ad set level

Many advertisers prefer no account-level cap and manage spend via daily budgets instead.
