What Is the Facebook Ad Account Spending Limit
The Facebook Ad Account spending limit is a maximum total amount your ad account is allowed to spend.
When the limit is reached:
All ads automatically pause
No impressions are delivered
Campaigns remain active but do not spend
Ads will not resume until the limit is increased, reset, or removed.
How to Change or Remove the Facebook Ad Spend Limit
Step 1: Open Facebook Payment Settings
The spending limit is managed from Facebook Billing settings.
Go to business.facebook.com
Open Business Manager
Navigate to Billing
Click Payment Settings
Step 2: Locate the Account Spending Limit
This section shows how much of the limit has been used.
Look for Account Spending Limit
Review the remaining and total spend allowed
Step 3: Change or Remove the Limit
You can either increase the limit or remove it entirely.
Click the three-dot menu (β―) next to Account Spending Limit
Choose one option:
Change β Enter a higher limit
Eliminate β Remove the spending cap completely
Confirm the update when prompted
Changes usually take effect immediately.
Step 4: Resume Ad Delivery
Once the limit is updated:
Refresh Ads Manager
Wait a few minutes for Facebook to sync
Ads should begin spending again automatically
No campaign edits are required.
Common Issues and Fixes
Ads are still not spending after removing the limit
Check for:
Billing issues or declined payments
Campaign or ad set budget caps
Ads still under review
Paused campaigns or ad sets
I donβt see the option to change the spending limit
Only Ad Account Admins can manage spending limits.
Ask an Admin to update the limit if the option is missing.
Should I remove the spending limit completely?
Removing the limit is safe if:
You actively monitor spend
Budgets are controlled at campaign or ad set level
Many advertisers prefer no account-level cap and manage spend via daily budgets instead.
